Troubleshooting

Mineroam Link user guide

Start Here

Run /mineroam status, then /mineroam doctor. Read the exact message and check the server/proxy console. Do not repeatedly delete the registration file.

Plugin Does Not Load

Check that you installed the correct JAR, your software meets the requirements, and your Java runtime matches the server software. Remove duplicate Link JARs. Paper needs the native transfer API; the Minecraft version alone is not enough if you are using unsupported server software. Check the first startup error.

No Permission

Grant the node for the command from the permissions guide. On Velocity this must be a proxy permission, not just a backend server permission. Register in game, not from the console.

Mineroam Unavailable / Disconnected

Check your server's internet/DNS access and hosting restrictions. Link retries automatically. An outage does not require a new registration. New registration requires Mineroam to be reachable. Saved files do not override the current registration decision.

Registration Paused

Read the displayed message. Wait for reopening or request a grant from Mineroam staff. With a grant, repeat the registration command using the same player account, name and address, followed by the code. A grant still needs the normal local registration permission and cannot bypass restrictions. A replacement or revoked code invalidates the old code.

Name Taken / Name Locked / Wrong Address

Names are unique, and some names or endpoints may be blocked. Choose an allowed name or contact Mineroam staff about an existing listing. Only use reregister when your status permits it. If staff rename your listing, Link recovers the assigned name automatically and keeps its listing settings and votes.

Ownership Verification Failed

Use the public game host and its actual game port, with enable-status=true on Paper. For a network, register the proxy address and install Link on the proxy. Check that the temporary verification marker reaches status requests; another MOTD/status plugin may overwrite it. A custom DNS player address may depend on an SRV record: enter its actual game port explicitly in the registration.

Suspended / Banned / Registration Blocked

Contact Mineroam staff or follow the relevant appeal instructions. Do not try to clear a restriction by removing files or changing names. Network player bans also prevent registration. A separate account registration block can prevent new listings without banning that player from the lobby.

Listing Missing From The Browser

Check that Link is connected and maintenance is off. Offline, restricted or maintenance listings are hidden. A reserved listing is not a connected Link listing until successfully claimed. Use /mineroam status to confirm the state.

Transfer Fails

Enable incoming transfers on the destination. Check the destination's public host/port and client version compatibility. A transfer does not translate protocols. An unavailable/full/restricted listing cannot be joined through Mineroam. Link must be connected for its network commands and lobby return.

Voting: Connection Refused

Usually no listener accepted the connection at the configured public host/port. Check the allocation in your hosting panel AND NuVotifier's actual listening port. Restart NuVotifier after changes. Check its console for binding errors, wrong address, duplicate ports or another process occupying the port. Ask your host to confirm the externally reachable TCP address/port. Changing a token or public key will not fix a refused TCP connection.

Voting: Timeout

Check firewall rules, the host/IP and externally reachable TCP allocation. Confirm the listener is reachable from outside your hosting network. A game connection working does not prove the separate voting port is reachable.

Voting: Authentication Or Public Key Error

Match protocol v2 to a NuVotifier token, or v1 to rsa/public.key. Check for missing characters and accidental spaces. Never use rsa/private.key. Check whether NuVotifier allows v1 when using it. Run voting reload after edits. Do not share your token, registration file or grant code in a help screenshot.

Voting: Settings Saved But No Rewards

Saved settings are not a connection test. Run voting test once and read both NuVotifier and reward-plugin logs. v2 acceptance confirms the notification, not that a reward was issued; v1 has no delivery acknowledgement. Check reward rules, the service name Mineroam and offline reward handling. Test commands can give real rewards, so avoid repeating them without checking the result.

Message/Find Commands Do Not Work

Check connection, feature availability and player permissions. Privacy, ignores, a network ban or mute may limit an action. On Velocity, verify permissions on the proxy. Another plugin may claim the same command; /mrmsg is the explicit Mineroam message command. Your server's existing /vote is unaffected by Link.

Files And Updating

Paper uses config.yml and registration.yml; Velocity uses config.json and registration.json. Paper may also create features.json as a feature cache. Both generate license.txt. Registration files are private runtime credentials; back them up securely and do not publish or copy them into another live server. Vote tokens and unspent grant codes must also stay private. A public RSA key is not a private key, but do not upload an entire NuVotifier folder for support.

To update: stop the server/proxy, back up its Link data folder, replace the old JAR with the new MineroamLink.jar, and start it again. Keep one Link JAR and retain your data folder. Avoid hot plugin reloaders. The bundled licence is written to license.txt on startup and refreshed if its contents differ.

For help, provide the Link version, Paper/Velocity version, exact error and relevant redacted log lines. Never send credentials or an unredacted runtime registration file.
